AWAY FROM THE OFFICE
Raj was born in Bangalore, India, and raised in
Madison, Wisconsin, where he became a Badger and a devoted Packers fan. Raj and
his wife, Raina, moved to Arizona from Minnesota and have learned to cope with
the desert heat with plenty of gelato. In Minnesota, Raj was an Assistant Public
Defender on the major felony trial calendar. Prior to that, Raj lived in
Chicago, where he earned his L.L.M. from Northwestern University Law School and
became an associate in the International Corporate Division of KPMG. In college,
Raj excelled in math and science and received a fellowship to conduct research
on ectodermal dysplasia patients at the National Institutes of Health. He
entered law school after interning for then-U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton. A
lover of books, Raj's favorite authors include John Kennedy Toole, Michael
Chabon and Sebastian Faulks. When time permits, Raj lifts weights and tries to
capture the beauty of the Arizona landscape by painting in oil or sculpting in
clay. |
